By Pawel Kozlowski
Aug. 2 (Bloomberg) -- PBG SA, a Polish construction company, boosted second-quarter profit fourfold amid a building boom in the country.
Net income advanced to 31.8 million zloty ($11 million) from 8.14 million zloty a year earlier, the company, based in Przezmierowo, western Poland, said in a regulatory statement today. Profit beat the 21 million-zloty median estimate of three analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. Revenue more than doubled to 314.8 million zloty.
Polish construction sales surged 30 percent in the first six months of the year as the largest of the 12 newest European Union member countries upgraded roads, sewage treatment networks and power plants.
