Bloomberg Today:
Lithuania's Unemployment Rate Declined to Record Low of 2.7%
July 5 (Bloomberg) -- Lithuania's unemployment rate fell to a record low of 2.7 percent in June, as a growing economy helped create more jobs.
The rate fell from 3 percent in May, the Vilnius-based Labor Exchange office said in an e-mailed statement today. At the end of June 58,396 people did not have jobs, compared with 63,343 in May.
Lithuania's jobless rate is falling amid economic growth that reached 8.3 percent in the first quarter and as citizens emigrate to other European Union states that have opened their labor markets.
